ANTWERP, Belgium and Turin, Italy (1st September 2021)
The first Italian daily news group GEDI Gruppo Editoriale has started a partnership with the leading provider of self-learning recommendation engines Froomle to develop personalized digital services across different GEDI newspaper brands.
Readers of the online versions of GEDI's newspapers can now enjoy personalized contents which better meet their interests and preferences. Thanks to Froomle’s digital tools, articles, videos and galleries are selected and proposed to every reader by artificial intelligence solutions, which learn autonomously everyone's preferences. These tools improve the readers' experience and save their time, as they find on their devices what they want at any time.
The enhanced reading experience has been made available already for a number of weeks on repubblica.it with successful results, increasing by 100% the Click-Through Rate, as targeted contents proved able to engage a more interested and active users base, and are now being implemented on lastampa.it and other GEDI’s newspapers’ websites.
Daniele Bianchi, Digital Managing Director at GEDI, said: "Froomle’s tool is an additional step of our digitalization strategy, helping us to match top quality journalism with a gratifying reading experience: by strengthening the relation with our readers we are offering them a whole new set of valuable multiplatform services.”
Koen Verstrepen, CEO of Froomle, commented: "We look forward to working with GEDI to address better reading experience in the Italian market. Working with Froomle, GEDI will increase their reader engagement and conversion rate.”
GEDI Gruppo Editoriale is the first daily news group in Italy, leader in the printed and digital media with titles such as La Repubblica, La Stampa, ten local newspapers and L’Espresso. GEDI is also one of the main national radio businesses, including a brand of absolute excellence such as Radio Deejay, as well as Radio Capital and m2o. GEDI also operates in the multiplatform advertising sector, through the concessionaire A. Manzoni & C. S.p.A.
Froomle's highly-specialized personalization modules allow news and media companies to improve their readers' experience and increase the impact of their quality journalism. Froomle personalizes news for a portfolio of media, broadcasting and publishing brands, enabling them to increase subscriptions by improving reader satisfaction, delighting readers based on location and behaviour and finding balance between relevance and recency. Based on its technology, Froomle helps news brands win against the filter bubble by giving Editor-in-Chief enough deciding power over the diversity of topics and counter-opinions on a subject.
