What has been their challenge?

Henneo, home to 20 minutos in Spain, had a content personalization solution in place that they were looking to challenge. The main tasks were to improve CTR while also improving recirculation performance and engagement.


How did we approach this case?

Within the Continue Reading Module on the desktop article page, Froomle provides 4 recommendations for the “Cities” section on 20 minutos. Within this module some editorial controls were also added, including:

  • Only showing articles from the same primary section are shown, which can include the most popular news
  • A filter to remove articles that the user has already read

This is the final result

After a few weeks, the results were clear:

  • Froomle personalization outperformed the Henneo popularity baseline for CTR, with an average increase of 22%, and up to 60% in some instances.
  • Froomle recommendations also showed more of Henneo’s article catalogue: 3x more variety of articles were shown and the variety of articles from different categories were clicked 1,5x more.
